“Dr Johansson, this is Jeff Goldblum,” he began in a video message shown to Johansson during her interview on Today.

“Don’t get eaten, unless you want to. I love you.”

Johansson, who’ll be portraying the lead character in the currently untitled fourth Jurassic World film, was beyond excited after watching the video message.

“Oh my God, I can t believe Jeff said that to me. I think my life is complete now. I can retire,” she said.

The 39-year-old also described the script for the upcoming movie as “so incredible”.

“I am an enormous Jurassic Park fan. It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in theatres,” she told ComicBook.com.

“I remember it so vividly. It was life-changing and mind blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”

Details remain limited as to what viewers can expect to see in Jurassic World 4, but it’s been confirmed that development is well under way.

It has been reported that the upcoming film will be an entirely new story that’s separate from the previous Jurassic World trilogy.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ is getting a sequel, and original cast members are set to return https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/the-devil-wears-prada-sequel/ Wed, 10 Jul 2024 01:49:24 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=519245 Gird your loins!

The post ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ is getting a sequel, and original cast members are set to return appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Released in 2006, The Devil Wears Prada not only became one of the most iconic movies of the early 2000s, but it also skyrocketed the careers of Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

Now, more than 18 years after it hit screens, it’s been revealed that a sequel is officially in the works! Plus, original cast members are rumoured to be returning…

Miranda Priestly is reportedly returning to our screens. (Image: Disney Plus)

According to Puck News, a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is in the early stages of development at Disney.

Whilst there hasn’t been confirmation about who of the original cast will be reprising their roles in the upcoming film, reports allege that Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt will be joining the project.

The news of the sequel comes after a 2022 interview with Anne Hathaway where she told The View that she didn’t think it would be possible.

“I don’t know if there can be [a sequel],” she said. “I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital and that movie is centred around the concept of producing a physical thing and it’s just, it’s just very different.”

The original The Devil Wears Prada film was a huge success, both at the box office and on the awards circuit. The movie grossed US$326.7 million worldwide, as well as earned leading actress Meryl Streep, a.k.a Miranda Priestly, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination.

The film is based on a 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, and follows Andy Sachs, a young woman who moves to New York City to become a writer, but instead finds herself as an assistant to the “tyrannical editor-in-chief of a major fashion magazine”, Runway.

The Devil Wears Prada became a cult classic, and in the years following its release, fans have wondered and speculated about a potential sequel.

The three main actresses, Streep, Hathaway and Blunt, have also kept the film in the public eye, even recently appearing on stage at the 2024 SAG Awards in February, where they performed a short skit in reference to their characters.

Variety allege that the storyline for the sequel will follow “[Miranda] Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”

The script is being written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who was the screenwriter of the original film as well as countless other blockbusters such as 27 Dresses, Laws of Attraction and Morning Glory.

In addition, the film’s original director, David Frankel, and original producer, Wendy Finerman, are also in talks to return for the highly anticipated second instalment.

To refresh your memory, the original cast also featured Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, Adrian Grenier, Gisele Bundchen, Tracie Thoms, Rich Sommers and Daniel Sunjata.

So, who will we see return for the highly anticipated sequel? Only time will tell…

Watch this space for updates as more information becomes available.

The post Gladiator 2: The first look at the gory film bringing the roman empire back to cinema appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Even after thousands of years, the power of the roman empire continues to fascinate people. With some even going as far as to recreate it on film.

There have been countless movies loosely reiterating epic moments in history – but none have compared to that of Russell Crowe’s, Gladiator.

The 2000s Oscar-winning movie, directed by Ridley Scott, follows the downfall of Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius who was betrayed by Commodus, the ambitious son of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Maximus once asked: “Are you not entertained?”

And it is clear audiences are still entertained 24 years later as a second instalment arrives later in 2024. With anticipation building for Gladiator II, we’ve done a deep dive to answer all your burning questions – including where you can watch the first film in Australia.

What is the plot for Gladiator II?

The second instalment of Gladiator will take place more than 20 years after the original movie. It is expected to follow a now-grown Lucius, the son of Lucilla, as he takes on Maximus’ legacy.

It has been reported Lucius will be fighting in the ring as his political ties haunt him. It was his birthright to ascend as a Caesar but decided to carry on Maximus’ legacy following his brave sacrifice.

As of yet, nothing has been set in stone regarding the plot for Gladiator II. The trailer for the second movie debuted at CinemaCon in mid-April, but it has yet to be revealed to an international audience.

Who is the cast for Gladiator?

Australian’s own Russell Crowe starred as Maximus in the first rendition of Gladiator. However, given the characters tragic end, he will not be returning.

The cast members returning however for the second film include Connie Nielsen, Spencer Treat Clarke, Dijmon Hounsou and May Calamawy.

Taking up the lead as Lucius is Hollywood favourite Paul Mescal. Joining him his Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn.

When does Gladiator II release?

Gladiator 2 has been scheduled to release in theatres on November 14, 2024. However, films commonly release earlier in Australia than the U.S. so this could change closer to the date.

Is Gladiator based on a true story?

Ridley Scott’s Gladiator is loosely based on real events in ancient Rome. The film is accurate is some areas, it predominately took inspiration from the time.

Maximus Decimus Meridius was not a real person but was inspired by the Roman general Marcus Nonius Macrinus – a general, statesman and advisor during Marcus Aurelius’ reign from 161 to 180AD. The character was also believed to be inspired by Cincinnatus, Marcus Nonius Macrunis, Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Tiberius Claudius Pompeianus.

As for Commodus, son to Marcus Aurelius, he wasn’t a fair ruler, his lust for power was dramatised. He did however ascend the throne for a decade following his father’s death.

Marvel fans thought it was the final time we would see Wolverine with his claws out in 2017 with Logan, but in a shock return, Hugh Jackman is teaming up with Ryan Gosling for a Wolverine & Deadpool movie.

Wolverine first graced the screen in 2000, where his death was shown in the 2017 film. In this near two-decade history in Marvel, Hugh starred in nine films – predominately X-Men – as the Wolverine.

With such a rich history with the supernatural character, it should come as no surprise Hugh wanted to return with the epic Deadpool character.

But as it turns out, the Aussie actor almost didn’t receive the role at all. At the time, Hugh was in the early stages of his career and believed his blew the audition. That was until a young Kevin Fiege – also in the beginning of his career – saw Hugh’s potential and invited him out for dinner.

“I said, ‘Kevin, we all know I’m not getting the part. You don’t have to do dinner,'” Hugh recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “But no, he sat in there and had a steak dinner with me and then drove me to the airport. I’ll never forget it. That was the nicest thing. I thought, I’ll never see him again.”

Despite his doubt, Hugh ultimately landed the role that defined his career.

Ahead of the Wolverine & Deadpool release, we discover all its details including your burning questions about previous Wolverine films – including where to watch.

Where to watch all the movies starring Wolverine:

Wolverine isn’t only a standalone film, but the character made significant appearances in the X-Men franchise.

All nine films starring Hugh Jackman as Logan – excluding the upcoming 2024 film – are available for streaming on Disney+. As for which streaming platform Deadpool & Wolverine will be hitting following its cinematic release is yet to be revealed, but it is safe to presume it will go straight to Disney+.

Hugh has starred in nine films as Logan – soon to be ten.

And for viewer pleasure, we’ve listed all the films in which Wolverine has starred in in order of release date below – because who wants to watch franchise not in chronological order?

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

We’ve excluded Hugh’s five minute appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse which released in 2016.

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

The upcoming 2024 film centers around the Marvel Comics characters Deadpool and Wolverine – clearly. Ryan Reynolds reprises his MCU Wade Wilson role for the third time to convince Logan (Hugh) to become allies and save his world.

In the trailer, we meet the version of Logan who is struggling with guilt as he “let down the entire world.”

Given Marvels fondness of jumping between the ‘multiverse’ as they call it in the Avengers timeline, fans should come as no surprise the concept has made its way to Deadpool.

Making her MCU debut as the movies villain is Emma Corwin as Cassandra Nova. An incredibly powerful mutant and twin sister to Charles Xavier.

When does Deadpool & Wolverine release?

Following the SAG-Aftra strikes, the third Deadpool instalment was delayed by a few months. Now, Deadpool & Wolverine will hit Australian cinemas on July 25, 2024.

The post Henry Cavill’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be available to stream in Australia soon appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
It was a strategic move to put some of Hollywood’s most desired into one movie, or at least that’s what we think given the cast list on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

The film follows the true story of the first-ever special forces organisation formed by the UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials during World War II.

Despite being a special forces unit, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a more comedic retelling of the story, showing a more gruesome and chaotic side as opposed to what is told in history books.

Henry Cavill portrays Gus March-Phillips, the leader in a group of rogues and mavericks as they go on a mission against the Nazi’s, using completely unconventional and “ungentlemanly” – as the title suggests – fighting techniques.

The action-comedy was adapted by Arash Amel from the 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII by author Damien Lewis.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare writer Arash revealed to Variety that the film crew took “creative liberties, but everything is rooted in truth.”

In the same interview, Henry admitted a lot of the scenes were “spur of the moment.”

“We all sit there in the morning, kick the scene around and come up with some during shooting. And if it works, it works; if it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” he said.

Joining Henry is Alan Ritchson as Anders Lassen, Alex Pettyfer as Geoffrey Appleyard, Henry Golding as Freddy Alvarez, Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Henry Hayes, Eiza Gonzalex as Majorie Stewart, and Babs Olusanmokun as Heron.

Elizabeth Taylor is renowned as one of Hollywood’s most famous faces, and she had a unique and intriguing career and life.

Never-before-heard audio interviews with the starlet have now been unearthed, and they’re being used to create a brand-new vulnerable documentary that chronicles Elizabeth’s complex life.

Though she sadly passed away in 2011 aged 79 years old, Elizabeth Taylor’s legacy has continued to live on.

The former actress is still widely known and respected as one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema, especially from the 1950s.

Now, both long-time fans and new audiences will have the opportunity to glimpse inside Elizabeth’s life both in and out of the spotlight in a new biographical documentary.

Directed by Nanette Burstein, Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes will be narrated by the star’s own voice thanks to the discovery of never-before-seen interviews.

The documentary will also feature personal photos, home videos and clips from her many iconic and infamous acting roles. These forms of media will “mirror her real-life challenges and triumphs while also challenging audiences to reconsider [her] legacy.”

The Lost Tapes will showcase the Hollywood legend’s complex personal life, vulnerability and what life was like for Elizabeth living in the spotlight.

Elizabeth’s most famous movie roles include Cleopatra, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Giant, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The V.I.P.s, and The Taming of the Screw.

But her career wasn’t the only thing she was famous for – the starlet was also well-known for her intriguing love life, having been married eight times – including twice to the same man.

The director of The Lost Tapes, Nanette Burnstein spoke to Page Six about how shocked she was by how badly Elizabeth was treated because of her relationships.

“Just how much she was slut-shamed and just the level of being the first modern celebrity. I don’t think I quite understood the paparazzi insanity of her life.”

When news spread that Hollywood’s favourite, Ryan Gosling would be gracing the streets of Sydney for his new film The Fall Guy, locals and tourists alike flocked to find him.

Putting aside the oversized fur coat and Ken persona, Ryan portrays Colt Seavers, a down-and-out stuntman who must find the missing star of his ex-girlfriend’s film.

Joining him in the movie releasing April 24, 2024, is Emily Blunt (Jody Moreno), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Tom Ryder), Hannah Waddingham (Gail) Stephanie Hsu (Alma Milan) and Teresa Palmer, directed by David Leitch.

To film the epic action-comedy, the cast and crew came to Australia. So whether you’re a film-nut, want bragging rights about ‘being there’ or searching for a new destination to add to the wish list, we have found all the filming locations for The Fall Guy.

Primarily, the PG-13 film was filmed in Sydney throughout late 2022 and early 2023 with five main filming locations.

The Fall Guy was filmed in Disney Studios Australia, which is located near Centennial Park.

For various other scenes, the Hollywood celebrities took to the streets of Sydney – where fans played ‘where’s Wally’ but for Ryan Gosling.

As expected, the production featured scenes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Many Sydneysiders will remember the havoc filming caused across the city as the area was shut down for filming for several days.

The stunt filmed on the Harbour Bridge is arguably the films most ambitious and “disruptive.” Director David revealed to Man of Many there was only a four hour window to film the stunt, in which Ryan was dragged across the bridge at 48km/h “while he hangs onto a shovel.”

Production also filmed at Kurnell – located near Cronulla – Martin Place, and near the Anzac Bridge in Pyrmont.

Gracie Otto’s documentary about her legendary father took her to a dark place https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/gracie-otto-2024-stan-documentary/ Sun, 16 Jun 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=516168 “It was like therapy."

The post Gracie Otto’s documentary about her legendary father took her to a dark place appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Filmmaker Gracie Otto jokes that her mum Sue sometimes wishes there was a builder in the family instead of a long list of illustrious overachievers in the arts, including Gracie, her older sister, TV WEEK Logie Award-winning actress Miranda, and her legendary stage and screen star dad Barry Otto.

It’s her beloved dad who’s at the centre of her most personal project yet, Revealed: Otto By Otto. Originally, Gracie, 37, whose own film credits include Netflix’s Heartbreak High and the ABC series Ladies In Black, set out to tell the story of her ageing father preparing for a new production of a play he first did in his thirties.

(Image: Stan)

It was a way to help him out of the depression, which had settled in after his nervous breakdown following previews of another one-man show in 2013. Instead, intertwined with his physical limitations, Gracie noticed Barry was struggling to learn his lines.

“Like many good documentaries, it became clear that it wasn’t going to be the story I set out to tell,” she tells TV WEEK.

Midway through filming, Barry was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and Gracie contemplated shelving the project as her own career took off. But she’s so very grateful her team convinced her to continue.

“My whole relationship with Dad had always been about fun, so I didn’t want to go down the dark corridor his life was taking. But in order to be truthful to the film, I did,” Gracie explains.

(Image: Stan)

Famous names such as Cate Blanchett and Baz Luhrmann sharing their memories of the now 83-year-old, who’s perhaps best remembered for his roles in Strictly Ballroom and The Dressmaker, helped Gracie realise just how universally loved her dad is.

“Especially when I’m travelling around now on set and there’ll be people who are now big producers, who were maybe runners back in the day and Dad would give them paintings he’d done,” she says.

“Everyone says how kind he was to everyone. It makes me feel so good to not hear one bad thing said about him – it makes me aspire to be like that.”

The result is much more than a poignant celebration of Barry’s 50-year career, which began in amateur theatre in Brisbane. He’s worked for most Australian theatre companies, and with many of our most famous actors, including Cate, Nicole Kidman, Mel Gibson, Toni Collette, Jacki Weaver, Ben Mendelsohn and David Wenham.

“It was important for me to not make this film sad, even though it’s heartbreaking, Gracie shares. “At times, I found that filming was almost like a therapy I needed – the person is slowly dying in the most painful way to everyone around them, but I found beauty in that Dad just painlessly slipped into this new creative realm.”

Barry’s condition has deteriorated since filming finished in 2022, but Gracie says he’s happy with his beloved Burmese cats, Bella and Bogart, and pottering around his garden, or the public park, yanking out plants and making beautiful bouquets.

“I may have started this film for Dad, wanting him to be celebrated and deserving of recognition. But now, I don’t think I’ll ever show him the film, and I don’t think I need to.”

Anne Hathaway & Jessica Chastain join forces in thriller, ‘Mother’s Instinct’ https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/where-to-watch-mothers-instinct-australia/ Fri, 14 Jun 2024 02:15:30 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=516205 Terrifying and twisted.

Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, two of Hollywood’s biggest actresses, have teamed up in an intense new film.

Mother’s Instinct is a psychological thriller certainly not created for the faint-hearted…

(Image: Prime Video)

Set in the 1960s in suburban America, Mother’s Instinct follows two housewives and next-door neighbours, Alice (Jessica Chastain, 47) and Celine (Anne Hathaway, 41), who each have sons who are around the same age as one another.

As the official synopsis reads, “After a tragic accident, the long-standing friendship of two women is torn apart by paranoia. Amid pain, guilt and secrets, a psychological battle reveals the darker side of the maternal instinct.”

The film is a terrifying and twisted portrayal of the book, also titled Mother’s Instinct by the same name written by author Barbara Abel, who also acted as a screenwriter on the project.

Starring alongside Hathaway and Chastain are Anders Danielsen Lie, Josh Charles, Eamon O’Connell, Caroline Lagerfelt and Bayden D. Bielitz.

Mother’s Instinct is directed by Frenchman Benoît Delhomme in his directorial debut, and the film is a recreation of Olivier Masset-Depasse’s 2018 French rendition.

This isn’t the first project we’ve seen the Hollywood stars collaborate with Delhomme, who praised the pair to A Rabbits Foot.

“What they brought was so beautiful, and their chemistry was so good,” he said.

“Anne and Jessica, I didn’t try to redirect them. I was observing them. I wanted to give them freedom to express the characters they had built in their head.”

Both Hathaway and Chastain have spoken about the heaviness of the movie, with the former telling Sky News, “It was one of those jobs you really, really didn’t want to take home with you.”

Meanwhile, Chastain has shared about her process of getting into character, saying she spent time “trying to connect to something outside of [her]self.”

The 47-year-old told Glamour, “For my character, really, it was an exploration not only in motherhood, but of anxiety.

“She faces a lot of restrictions and pushback against the woman she longs to be, and I feel quite different in my life.”

Mother’s Instinct is available to watch on Prime Video in Australia.

Disney’s blockbuster animation Moana is being transformed into a highly-anticipated live-action version later this year, and the key cast members have just been announced.

Disney announced the news on 13 June. (Image: Disney)

Catherine will star as Moana alongside Dwayne Johnson who will be reprising his role as the demigod Maui.

“I’m really excited to embrace this character because Moana is one of my favourites,” the Australian teen said.

“My grandfather comes from Fa‘aala, Palauli, in Savai‘i. And my grandmother is from Leulumoega Tuai on the main island of ‘Upolu in Samoa. I’m honoured to have an opportunity to celebrate Samoa and all Pacific Island peoples, and to represent young girls who look like me.”

Catherine’s father Jay expressed his immense pride and joy for his daughter, saying, “My family and I are so pleased to share this news with the rest of the world. My daughter Katie can finally share the news that she will be taking on the role of Moana in the live action Disney movie alongside Dwayne Johnson and Lin Manuel Miranda.”

The film has a targeted release date of 10 July 2026, and will be directed by Thomas Kail whose credits include Hamilton on Broadway, Grease Live and We Were The Lucky Ones.

The original animated film first hit screens in 2016 and was met with huge success.

As a result of the film’s positive reception, Disney will be releasing a sequel movie in late 2024 which is set to be released in theatres on 27 November.

Moana 2 will follow Moana’s journey “to the far seas of Oceania after receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors”.

Iconic 90s film Practical Magic is officially getting a sequel!

A new iteration of the cult classic starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock is set to hit screens more than 25 years after the original movie was released.

Warner Bros. confirmed the exciting news on 11 June, after much speculation about the prospect of the sequel.

“It’s official! Practical Magic 2 is in development and coming soon. 🌟🧙‍♀️,” the studio shared on Instagram.

Both Nicole and Sandra are tipped to reprise their roles as the Owens sisters in Practical Magic 2 and are also set to act as producers on the project alongside Denise Di Novi, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The original film has achieved cult-classic status. (Image: Getty)

The 1998 movie follows orphaned witch sisters Gillian (Nicole) and Sally (Sandra) Owens who are raised in a small town in Massachusetts by their unique and unconventional aunts.

The girls have been given a family curse where any man who falls in love with them is doomed to die, and in their desperation to break this curse they attempt to break the spell to rid themselves of the curse and find true love.

The official synopsis from Warner Bros. reads: “Now adult women with very different personalities, the quiet Sally and the fiery Gillian must use all of their powers to fight the family curse and a swarm of supernatural forces that threatens the lives of all of the Owens women.”

Practical Magic is available to rent or buy on Apple TV+. Subscribe now.

Both Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock were in the early stages of their acting careers when they filmed the original Practical Magic film, and they have gone on to become critically-acclaimed and Academy Award-winning actresses.

Both women have reflected on the movie fondly, with Nicole saying “I love that movie,” at the Oscars in 2018 when she momentarily reunited with her former co-star on the red carpet.

“I showed that movie to my kids. It’s a little above their [level of understanding] … But we’re really good sisters.”

Meanwhile, Sandra has recalled her favourite memory from Practical Magic, which was filming the infamous ‘midnight margaritas’ scene.

“We were talking about when we shot [the movie] together, and we asked her to get the tequila; she came back with her own tequila, but we drank it anyway. We were a little drunk,” Sandra said of Nicole.

The actresses are set to star in the sequel. (Images: Getty)

Practical Magic is based on the 1995 book of the same name by author Alice Hoffman, who has also gone on to write two prequel novels as well as one sequel.

The books can be read in the order they were written (Practical Magic, The Rules of Magic, Magic Lessons, The Book of Magic) or in chronological order (Magic Lessons, The Rules of Magic, Practical Magic, The Book of Magic).

One of the prequels, The Rules of Magic, was reportedly set to be turned into a spin-off series in 2019, however the deal fell through.

Original producer Denise Di Novi spoke on the show’s cancellation in February 2024, where she also teased the possibility of the now-confirmed Practical Magic sequel.

“There is something else that’s going to happen that is still a secret,” she told UPI.

“But I think the fans are going to be thrilled. It’s not The Rules of Magic, which I did develop for television, but it’s in the world of Practical Magic.”

Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming Practical Magic 2 film!

Australian icon Kylie Minogue has reportedly signed a huge deal with streaming giant Netflix to release a documentary about her long-standing career.

The 56-year-old will allegedly film the documentary in late 2024, and it will be an exclusive fly-on-the-wall account of her incredible life story.

The documentary is set to film later this year. (Image: Getty)

Kylie Minogue has seen extreme success over the course of her entire career in the entertainment industry, but especially so in recent years.

This has reportedly caused a bidding war between many streaming platforms who were fighting to win the rights to create the documentary.

According to The Mirror, Netflix triumphed over rivals Disney Plus and Apple TV+, and Kylie signed a seven-figure deal with the company.

A source claimed, “There was a serious bidding war over this.”

“Kylie’s had an incredible life, from starring in Neighbours to becoming a pop icon and still dominating the charts decades later. She has a massive fanbase so there’s no question it will attract a huge audience. That’s why the offers went so high – everyone’s very excited.”

Having first shot to stardom in the 1980s while appearing on iconic Australian soap, Neighbours, Kylie Minogue has gone on to reach many achievements over the duration of her career.

From acting to singing, the superstar has done it all and crossed multiple different areas and genres in the process.

Kylie has seen immense success, especially in recent years, with her shift into electronic dance music being extremely popular with both listeners and critics.

Most recently, the Padam Padam singer won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Dance Recording in 2024 – her first in 20 years.

Prior to her 2024 GRAMMY win, the Aussie pop star won her first GRAMMY in 2004 for her song Come Into My World.

The success of her hit song Padam Padam, which topped the charts, saw Kylie launch a residency in Vegas. This residency was extremely successful and only came to an end in May after six months.

The album on which Padam Padam featured, Tension, was a huge hit and there are reports that Kylie is working hard behind the scenes to create another successful album.

Rumours suggest Kylie Minogue’s next album could be released as early as late 2024, which would correspond with the filming of her upcoming documentary.

Aussie actress Tasneem Roc has built up a hefty CV in her home country, having been a part of the original cast of Heartbreak High as well as shows like East West 101 and Reef Doctors

But her new role in the Netflix film Mother of the Bride meant rubbing shoulders with some Hollywood faves, including the legendary Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt and Chad Michael Murray.

She works alongside Brooke Shields in new Netflix film.

“It’s one of the first times that I actually wasn’t nervous,” Tasneem tells TV WEEK of filming with big names. “I’m like, ‘I’m going to have fun on this shoot,’ because sometimes I’ve got myself into a place where I’m anxious and that’s not enjoyable.”

“The first day on set, I was with Brooke and Benjamin,” she recalls. “And I thought, ‘This is really weird. I’m not nervous. I actually feel really comfortable and I’m having fun!’ It was a nice feeling.”

In the rom-com film, Tasneem stars as a wedding planner organising Emma’s (Miranda Cosgrove) wedding in Thailand.

Brooke Shields stars as the bride’s mum Lana, who realises Emma’s future father-in-law is none other than Lana’s ex-boyfriend from college, Will (Benjamin Bratt).

She also starred in Mako Island.

“It’s a cute movie,” Tasneem says of Mother of the Bride. “[Filming in Phuket] was really good, high, happy vibes. My life was going to get a coconut, a massage, getting in the pool. It was lovely!”

Not a bad gig for a gal from Sydney, whose first big gig was playing social activist Thania in the original 1990s version of Heartbreak High.

The 45-year-old is still close with her co-stars, and reveals the Hartley High alumni are big fans of Netflix’s popular reboot.

“I love the fact that there’s a new updated version of Heartbreak High – it’s amazing.”

“I’m in a group chat with most of the actors from [the original] Heartbreak High and the consensus is it’s really good. They love the new show.”

With Netflix recently announcing the third and final season, will Tasneem be able to squeeze in a return like her former co-stars Lara Cox and Jeremy Lindsay Taylor have?

“I would love to have a cameo on it,” Tasneem tells TV WEEK. “That would be fun. I’m putting my hand up. If they want me, I’m available for sure.”

Australian actress Abbie Cornish, 41, is taking on the role of Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith, who tragically passed away in 2007, in an upcoming biopic.

The feature film, Trust Me, I’m A Doctor, was recently announced and will be based on the book of the same name.

Abbie Cornish has previously appeared in a variety of projects including Somersault, Bright Star and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, but taking on the role of Anna Nicole Smith will be a new adventure for the 41-year-old.

The actress has spoken about what this role means to her, saying: “Playing Anna Nicole Smith is such a dream.”

“I am honoured to have been chosen by our amazing producers and talented writer/director, Thane Economou. And I am so excited to work with our incredible cast and crew. I am blessed to stand alongside the charismatic and gifted [co-star] Kal Penn and tell the tale of this moment in history.

“There are so many layers and chapters to Anna’s life story that I look forward to embodying on screen with all of my heart and soul. Truly grateful.”

Trust Me, I’m A Doctor will be based on a memoir by Dr Sandeep Kapoor, Trust Me, I’m A Doctor: My Life Before, During and After Anna Nicole Smith.

Dr Kapoor was a physician who was implicated in Anna’s death, which was as a result of an accidental overdose on 8 February 2007 when she was just 39-years-old.

The biopic will be set in the early 2000s and follow the final days of Anna’s life, and will be told through the perspective of Sandeep who will be played by Kal Penn, 47.

Following Anna’s death, Sandeep found himself in the spotlight after he and Anna’s psychiatrist, Dr Khristine Eroshevic, were charged with allegedly providing her with excessive prescription drugs.

However, they were acquitted in 2010 as a jury found there wasn’t enough evidence to convict them.

Kal Penn will be both starring in and producing Trust Me, I’m A Doctor. (Image: Getty)

Also starring in the film will be Linda Hamilton, who will be portraying Dr Kapoor’s lawyer Ellyn Garafalo, alongside Kal Penn who is also an executive producer on the project.

“We all know the tragic story of the iconic Anna Nicole Smith, but very few of us – myself included – knew much about her young doctor: flamboyant, old school, blurring the lines between patient and acquaintance, and ultimately arrested and charged following her death,” Kal said in a statement to Deadline when announcing the film.

“It’s a wild story brought to life in an especially tremendous script.”

Set photos from filming have recently been released, which showcase Abbie portraying Anna in a recreation of her outfit at a 2005 Pride parade.

Trust Me, I’m A Doctor is not the only movie or TV show created about Anna Nicole Smith’s life, as The Anna Nicole Story (also known as Anna Nicole) was released in 2013 and chronicled her life journey from being a small-town dancer to being a Playboy Playmate, to being married and to her eventual death.

It has also been confirmed that another biopic about Anna Nicole Smith, Hurricanna, has begun filming.

For many years it was just the five Emotions – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust taking the reins. Just when Joy learnt to release control to her fellow Emotions, they are confronted with four new Emotions – Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment.

Fans of reality show Australian Survivor were shocked to recognise a familiar face on the big screen when watching the brand new Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga film.

Mark Wales, who won the title of Sole Survivor in 2022, appeared in the role of Hefty Brakeman in the blockbuster Australian movie.

Mark, 44, spoke about the exciting news that he was in Furiosa alongside Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy in early May, uploading a selection of images from the film’s Sydney premiere.

“I sent in an audition for FURIOSA two and half years ago. I’m not a trained actor but I’ve loved film and TV my whole life so I gave it a go,” he shared.

“I never expected I would actually get a call back, but I was asked to do a zoom call with Director George Miller. For an hour he told stories about his time as an emergency doctor in the 1970s and how he had dreamt of a dystopian wasteland. He told me FURIOSAs’ epic backstory.

“George offered me a role (I squealed) to form part of his cast to help bring that vision to life. He’s been doing it for 40 years and he is simply the best and calmest leader on set.

“A childhood dream come true and I still don’t believe it. I think it’s a superb film (unbiased?) and I hope you love it.”

The 44-year-old father also spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle about his role in Furiosa, saying he was “really proud” to be part of the film.

“I was really nervous about it, but I think I held my own. It was great to be in such an amazing Australian franchise and as difficult as it was to train and get ready for it, that film is now carved in time and I’m really proud of it. It’s something I’m really, really grateful for,” Mark shared.

Fans of the Survivor star took to social media to praise his performance in the movie, with one writing, “That is so awesome. It’s always great to see Australian vets get into big productions”.

Meanwhile, others wrote, “You never cease to surprise, Mark!” and “Well done mate! Watch out Mr Hemsworth!”.

Although his latest venture is acting, Mark has dabbled in many different diverse areas within his career.

Not only did he appear on Australian Survivor (twice) and win in 2022, but he is also a veteran soldier who was in the Australian army from 1996 to 2014.

More recently, Mark wrote and released an autobiographical book that was endorsed by Bear Grylls, called Survivor: Life In The SAS. The book chronicles his life both in the army and afterwards, and “is a story of resilience and a testament to the power of transformation”.

The reality TV star will also soon be releasing a fictional novel about a futuristic Australia that becomes occupied by foreign forces. Named Outrider, the novel will follow the main character, Jack Dunne on his mission to save his son and secure a future for both of them.

Survivor: Life In The SAS is available to purchase from Booktopia, and Outrider can be pre-ordered from Big W.

Jennifer Lopez on why she was unafraid to tackle her new role in Atlas https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-atlas/ Mon, 27 May 2024 05:21:55 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=514175 A futuristic dilemma.

The post Jennifer Lopez on why she was unafraid to tackle her new role in Atlas appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
She once wanted to keep it real as Jenny from the Block, but now Jennifer Lopez is chasing a rogue robot on another planet in sci-fi action flick Atlas.

“You really have to be unafraid to look ridiculous a lot of the time,” Jennifer, 54, tells TV WEEK. “But at the same time, it’s why you become an actor – to play make-believe and have it be kind of true, but also bigger than life. There’s something about that that makes it so enjoyable for me.”

(Image: Netflix)

Jennifer’s character, Atlas, is a data analyst with limited social skills and a deep distrust of artificial intelligence. Despite those misgivings, she joins a mission with renegade robot Smith (voiced by Gregory James Cohan) to save humanity from an evil AI force, Harlan (Simu Liu). As a result, Jennifer had a lot of solo scenes.

“I was shooting in this pod the entire time,” Jennifer explains. “But there was a lot of heightened emotion and physicality within that pod that went on that was fun.

“I’m an athletic person, so I like the physicality of it, and I love the relationship between Atlas and Smith – I think it was really moving.”

(Image: Netflix)

As Harlan, Simu, who viewers might recognise as one of the many Kens in blockbuster film Barbie, had a good time playing the villain for a change.

“Villains are really fun to play because you get to be a little bit more unhinged or, in Harlan’s case, a little bit more robotic and unhuman,” Simu, 35, says. “It was fun to do something different and build a character from the ground up and go toe-to-toe with this one: J.Lo.”

Simu thinks the premise of Atlas is quite eerie – in our digital age, the plot could in fact become a reality.

“Today we run a risk of allowing things like AI, data and algorithms to make decisions for us,” he notes.

“A main technological message of the movie is that we have to proceed with caution in this area. AI and technology are always meant to enhance our lives – it’s never meant to lead.”

With Harlan representing the worst-case scenario of what happens when you put a robot that doesn’t possess human emotions such as empathy in control, it begs the question – will AI take over the world? And by the time humankind realises, will it be too late?

The Beach Boys’ new documentary will be hitting our screens 24 May 2024. And the unseen footage and interviews reveal that things weren’t always such “good vibrations” for the legendary band.

From the drugs to the betrayals, here’s everything you need to know before you watch.

ABUSE & BETRAYAL

The band’s early years were overshadowed by the three Wilson brothers’ abusive father and manager, Murry Wilson. His controlling nature even led the group to fire him in 1964!

Shockingly, in 1969, Murry sold the rights to their songs for just $700,000 – a fraction of their potential value, which could be worth around $100 million today. Brian Wilson later reflected that Murry believed the band was “washed up”.

The tension lingered, and in 1993 cousin Mike Love successfully sued Brian for co-writing credits on many songs.

RIVALRY WITH THE BEATLES

In the ’60s, the Beach Boys and the Beatles were kings of the music scene, but beneath the surface of their shared success lay a rivalry. Brian both admired and envied Paul McCartney’s songwriting prowess, feeling compelled to match the Beatles’ groundbreaking innovations.

Paul, in turn, acknowledged the Beach Boys’ influence on the Beatles’ legendary Sgt Peppers album. Despite occasional tensions, mutual respect simmered between the two groups.

CHARLES MANSON CONNECTION…

Did you know that in the late 1960s, cult leader Charles Manson briefly crossed paths with the Beach Boys? Manson became friends with drummer Dennis Wilson, even staying at his house for a time.

Manson, an aspiring musician, recorded some songs with Dennis’ help, hoping to leverage the connection. Although their collaboration didn’t lead to any major music releases, it’s a strange and unsettling chapter that Dennis later described as “fascinating and terrifying”.

THE LOST ALBUM

Brian Wilson, the creative force behind the Beach Boys, shelved the original master tapes for their ambitious Smile album in 1967, leading to decades of speculation and mystery. This “lost album” became legendary among fans, who eagerly awaited its potential release.

It wasn’t until 2004 that Brian revisited Smile, rearranging it for a series of solo concert performances. The long-awaited album arrived in 2011 as a glimpse into what might have been, reigniting fascination with one of the most enigmatic and storied albums.

GOOD VIBRATIONS

The famous track Good Vibrations is often called a “pocket symphony” because of its intricate arrangement and groundbreaking production. Released in 1966, the song took more than six months to complete and cost an estimated $50,000, which was an enormous amount for that era.

Brian spearheaded the project, incorporating a variety of instruments, including the unusual theremin, to achieve the unique sound on the popular song. Despite its experimental nature, Good Vibrations became one of the Beach Boys’ most celebrated hits.

DRAFT DODGING

Amid their touring endeavours, the Beach Boys encountered turbulence when Carl Wilson faced arrest on charges of alleged draft dodging. He was arrested for the crime in April 1967, and it took several years for the matter to be resolved in court.

Tensions only escalated when the British Musician’s Union objected to the band’s plans to tour with supplementary backing musicians. Despite Carl’s issues with the law, he’s largely credited for keeping the band together and his death to cancer in 1998 led to their split.

RESTRAINING ORDERS

Dennis Wilson (right) and Mike Love fell out.

In a dramatic turn of events, tensions between Beach Boys members – and cousins – Mike and Dennis escalated to the point where both felt compelled to obtain mutual restraining orders against each other. Their tumultuous relationship, marked by conflict and discord, traces back through a long and troubled history.

And Dennis wasn’t the only Wilson brother Mike clashed with – his feud with Brian also made headlines, with their creative differences thought to be at the heart of their conflict. Brian was beset with mental health problems exacerbated by drug use, adding to rifts in the band.

Mad Max fever has sparked once more as Australia’s own Chris Hemsworth takes the globe with Anya Taylor-Joy to promote new instalment, Furiosa.

The franchise, created by George Miller, first created international hype with the original Mad Max released in 1979. The story continued with a second film, The Road Warrior in 1982 and a third titled Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome in 1985.

Furiosa releases late May.
(Image: Warner Bros)

Thirty years later, Max Rockatansky’s story was revived in 2015 with Tom Hardy taking the lead in Mad Max: Fury Road. Perhaps it was this story where the curiosity around Furiosa was sparked, played by Charlize Theron.

Now Anya takes on her origin story in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. With the fifth instalment waiting for release, we discover all the details including where to watch all the previous movies.

What is Mad Max about?

The original films are set in dystopian Australia, where Max (Mel Gibson) is a highway patrolman in the areas where criminals forage for gasoline and scraps. After a terrible event by a motorbike gang, Max sets out for revenge.

Mel Gibson’s version of the film progresses throughout the next two films.

Fury Road is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the desert where the best and scarce commodity is petrol and water. Humanity is completely broken underneath a tyrannical ruler.

Tom Hardy’s version of Max is a man of very few words hoping to find peace after the loss of the wife and child. Instead, he meets Furiosa – a woman who rebels against the ruthless leader in search of her homeland, the ‘Green Place’, with a group of female prisoners.

The upcoming 2024 film is a different take on the series with the perspective of young Furiosa who was snatched from the ‘Green Place of Many Mothers’ and into the hands of warlord Dementus.

Furiosa attempts to survive and find a way home as two tyrants wage war for power.

When does Furiosa release?

Furiosa has a cinematic release in Australia on May 24, 2024.

Where to watch all movies in the Mad Max franchise:

The first four movies in the franchise are available for Apple TV+ in Australia. But to simplify your streaming process, we’ve narrowed down all the platforms each movie is available on.

The original Mad Max (1979) is available for streaming on Stan, Prime Video, Google Play and Apple TV+ in Australia.

Mel Gibson was the original Max.

The second film, Mad Max: The Road Warrior, is available for streaming on Apple TV+ in Australia. As for the third, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome can be streamed on Binge, Apple TV+, Foxtel, Goggle Play and Prime Video.

As for the most recent 2015 film Mad Max Fury Road, it can be streamed on Netflix, Apple TV+ and Prime Video.

Unfortunately, which streaming platform Furiosa will be shared to remains unknown.

Stream all the Mad Max films on Apple TV+ from $12.99/mth, with a 7-day free trial.

Stream Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome on BINGE from $10/mth, with a 7-day free trial.

Stream Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome & Mad Max Fury Road on Prime Video from $9.99/mth, with a 30-day free trial.

What order should you watch the Mad Max franchise?

Unfortunately, there are various contradictions in the Mad Max franchise, meaning the timeline can be quite difficult to understand. Tom Hardy’s Mad Max: Fury Road is a complete reboot of the original series telling a different version of the story.

However, it has been confirmed Furiosa is a prequel to the 2015 Fury Road movie.

Therefore, those curious about watching the Mad Max franchise can begin with the original trilogy with Mel Gibson, then Furiosa and finishing off with Fury Road.

Where did they film Mad Max in Australia?

The 1979 version took to various locations around Melbourne, Victoria including B100 coast road, Gasworks in Port Melbourne, South Lawn Car Park, rocky coves along Port Philip Bay and May’s farm.

Furiosa’s filming locations took inspiration from the original films. The 2024 crew took to Sydney’s southern suburbs in Kurnell – which was one of the locations for Beyond Thunderdome and Broken Hill where The Road Warrior was filmed. Additionally, it was filmed in Hay in the western Riverina.

As for Fury Road, filming was supposed to take place in NSW however production was postponed and predominately filmed in Namibia. Some scenes were shot however in Potts Hill in Sydney’s south-west and Penrith Lakes in Western Sydney.

It Ends With Us, the novel by Colleen Hoover, has taken the book world by storm in the past few years.

And, excitingly, the book is being adapted for the screen! Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming It Ends With Us movie.

What is the plot of ‘It Ends With Us’?

It Ends With Us is classified under the “romance” genre, and explores themes of love and abuse.

The film is based on the book of the same name by author Colleen Hoover, which tells the story of Lily who is a recent college graduate who has just moved to a new city looking for a fresh start and then falls in love.

You can purchase the book for $13.50 from Booktopia.

“Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his ‘no dating’ rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened,” the book’s description reads.

However, Colleen herself has confirmed the characters will be older in the movie than they are in the book to make the plot more realistic.

There was a little controversy regarding Blake Lively’s casting as Lily, as she is more than a decade older than her character Lily, who is 23.

Colleen defended the casting choice and admitted that it was actually to rectify a mistake she made when writing the novel.

“Back when I wrote It Ends With Us, the new adult [genre] was very popular,” Colleen said. “You were writing college-age characters. That’s what I was contracted to do.”

The author continued, “I didn’t know that neurosurgeons went to school for 50 years – there’s not a 20-something neurosurgeon. As I started making this movie, I’m like, ‘We need to age them out because I messed up,'” she said. “So that’s my fault.”

Who has been cast in ‘It Ends With Us’?

It Ends With Us will feature a relatively star-studded cast, spearheaded by Blake Lively who will be portraying the main character, as well as Justin Baldoni who is both directing and starring in the film.

The confirmed cast list includes:

 • Blake Lively as Lily Bloom

 • Justin Baldoni as Ryle Kincaid

 • Brandon Sklenar as Atlas Corrigan

 • Jenny Slate as Alyssa

 • Hasan Minhaj as Marshall

 • Isabela Ferrer as Young Lily Bloom

It’s also reported that Alex Neustaedter will be portraying Young Atlas Corrigan, according to Deadline.

When will ‘It Ends With Us’ be released?

In July 2023, Sony Pictures announced that It Ends With Us would be released on 9 February 2024.

However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, production was halted. Before the strike, they were last seen filming on 9 June 2023 and the movie was reportedly only about halfway through production at the time (having only started in May).

Production was confirmed to resume in January 2024 after the strike ended, and PEOPLE confirmed in early 2024 that the premiere had been pushed back a few months. It will now be released on 8 August 2024.

The movie is based on the book by the same name.

A third and final Downton Abbey movie has been confirmed https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/where-to-watch-downton-abbey-australia/ Wed, 15 May 2024 03:52:20 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=512773 Call the butler!

The post A third and final Downton Abbey movie has been confirmed appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Downton Abbey has become a worldwide phenomenon since it first appeared on screens in Australia in 2011.

The beloved TV show ran for six seasons and was also developed into two feature films in 2019 and 2022. Now, it’s been confirmed that a third and final instalment of the series is in development!

Downton Abbey follows a fictional family, the Crawleys, who live in an English country estate in the early 1900s.

The series depicts the lives of both the Crawley family and their servants, chronicling the effects that the events of the time period have on them.

The franchise has been widely praised and critically acclaimed, with the series earning 16 Primetime Emmy Awards in addition to four Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and one BAFTA.

Meanwhile, the movie of the same name has also been nominated for countless accolades.

Is Downton Abbey doing a 7th season?

It’s currently unknown whether the Downton Abbey series is returning for a seventh season.

Considering season six aired in 2016, it’s highly unlikely that the show will produce a seventh season more than eight years later.

Additionally, the two movies, Downton Abbey and Downton Abbey: A New Era, have been filmed and released since season six aired and thus it seems the creators are focusing more on the full-length films instead.

Is there a 3rd Downton Abbey movie?

It has been confirmed by Universal Pictures, Focus Features and Carnival Films that Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes has written the third instalment of the franchise.

It was also revealed that many of the original cast members, including Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern, will be returning for the new movie.

Cast member Imelda Staunton originally let it slip that a third movie was in the works in March 2024.

“There will be the final film; there you go,” Imelda told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.

Host Zoe Ball replied, “That’s quite significant. I hope this revelation hasn’t landed you in hot water,” to which Imelda hilariously stated, “I don’t care.”

There has been much speculation about a third film being made, ever since the second film was released in 2022.

The franchise is much-loved and critically acclaimed.

Where is Downton Abbey located?

The main filming location of Downton Abbey is Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, where the castle acts as the iconic house.

The site has become extremely popular thanks to the show, with fans flocking to the English countryside for a taste of life as a Crawley.

Why is it called Downton Abbey?

The name Downton Abbey comes from the show creator Julian Fellowes’ family background.

Julian was fascinated with his great-grandfather’s life as an experimental agriculturalist, where he had an estate in Wiltshire called Charford Manor.

“I thought of calling the series Charford Abbey, but we decided it was too near Cranford, and so we settled on ‘Downton’ after Downton College of Agriculture which [his great-grandfather] founded in 1880 and which, for a quarter of a century, was at the forefront of agricultural innovation,” Julian told The Star in 2016.

By now, it is common knowledge that any novel written by Colleen Hoover will rip out our heart and tear it to pieces before returning it – and It Ends With Us is no exception.

Despite her tear-jerking storylines, fans willingly take on this heartbreak for the temporary joy of reading an astonishing book.

Blake Lively leads as Lily in It Ends With Us.

It Ends With Us has arguably become one of Colleen’s more popular books thanks to it blowing up on social media during the pandemic – despite its 2016 release.

In turn, the book-to-movie adaptation has attracted some Hollywood favourites including Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, a 23-year-old flower shop owner and Justin Baldoni as Ryle Kincaid.

“Lily resonated with an enormous amount of people, as the success of the book made clear,” Blake told People. “Stepping into a character who’s had such a meaningful impact is an honor to take on.”

“I loved Lily. And I hope that love is felt by those who care about her like I do, and also those who are getting to know her for the first time in this film.”

The adaptation releases later in 2024.
(Image: Sony Pictures)

The film follows Lily who falls in love with 30-year old neurosurgeon, Ryle. But their relationship becomes abusive, when Lily plots an exit with her first love Atlas Corrigan played by Brandon Sklenar.

Joining the trio cast is Isabela Ferrer (young Lily Bloom), Jenny Slate (Allysa), Alex Neustaedter (young Atlas) and Hasan Minhaj (Marshall).

To film the emotional drama, the cast and crew took to the streets of New Jersey. Leaked images of Blake in character quickly sparked criticism among the dedicated fanbase. Protagonist Lily is known for her eccentric style, but many fans believed the adaptation has taken her outfits beyond ‘quirky’ to ‘weird.’

It is unknown which streaming service it will hit in Australia.

Despite this, fans remain on the edge of their seats to discover any new images or first looks of It Ends With Us.

The film was scheduled to release in cinema’s June 21, 2024, however, People reported in April that the launch date was pushed to August 9, 2024.

There is currently no information regarding where It Ends With Us will be streamed. However, some have predicted Prime Video, Netflix or Apple TV+.

Jennifer Aniston is set to produce a reboot of classic 1980 movie ‘9 To 5’ https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/jennifer-aniston-9-to-5-reboot/ Tue, 30 Apr 2024 00:57:45 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=511400 What a way to make a livin’!

The post Jennifer Aniston is set to produce a reboot of classic 1980 movie ‘9 To 5’ appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
It has been reported that Jennifer Aniston’s production company Echo Films will be reimagining classic 1980 movie 9 To 5 for modern audiences.

The hit comedy about sexism in the workplace originally featured high-profile actresses Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton.

Details remain limited about the upcoming reboot, but according to The Insneider, the script is being written by Diablo Cody who has written iconic comedies such as Juno, Jennifer’s Body and Young Adult, among others.

No specific plot details have been revealed as of yet, but the original movie followed three female colleagues in an office who are determined to exact revenge on their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” boss.

The original cast included Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman, and was based on an idea by Jane.

The original 9 To 5 movie was a huge success and launched Dolly Parton’s career as an actress, and her theme song of the same name became one of the biggest hits of the decade. The movie also earned her an Oscar nomination and multiple Grammy Awards.

The film also led to a spinoff television series as well as a 2009 Broadway stage musical that featured new songs by Dolly.

Not only that, but 9 To 5 also loosely inspired Horrible Bosses, a 2011 movie that starred Jennifer Aniston as an abusive boss.

Jennifer’s connection to the ‘80s movie extended even further in 2018 when she collaborated with Dolly on Dumplin’, a comedy musical, where the pair co-sang a song together in the movie.

Given Jennifer’s history with the movie itself as well as Dolly, it’s unsurprising that her latest venture is to create a reboot for the cult-classic.

Jennifer Aniston’s production company, Echo Films, was founded in 2008 in collaboration with Kristin Hahn.

The company has produced multiple films and television shows in the past, including Dumplin’, Murder Mystery 2 and The Morning Show which all star Jen.

Once specific details about the cast, plot and release date are revealed, we’ll update this page so watch this space!
