Gwyneth Paltrow, the force behind the lifestyle brand goop, is no stranger to making headlines. Usually the Oscar-winning actress gets there with her controversial wellness advice. But this time, GP is trending thanks to her stunning home collection.
Well, one home in particular. Gwyneth has recently listed her Brentwood home, where she and Coldplay ex Chris Martin lived during their ‘consciously uncoupling’ era.
The home’s price tag is an eye-watering US$30 million (AU$45 million). Gwyneth paid just under US$10 million (AU$15 million) for it back in 2012.
She’s selling because, apparently, she wants to downsize – not to a smaller home though.
To Gwynnie, downsizing just means having a fewer number of homes… stars, they’re just like us.
Regardless of whether you love her or love to hate her, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Gwyneth has impeccable design chops.
From the sunny coasts of California to the celebrity summer playground known as the Hamptons, here’s an inside look at the properties that make us all wish we were GP.
GWYNETH’S STUNNING HOMES

The Brentwood windfall
Gwyneth originally purchased this Los Angeles home in 2012. Now that her kids Apple and Moses are college-age, the A-list star has decided to bid farewell to this property in efforts to “downsize”.
Listed for US$30 million (AU$45 million), the six-bedroom house in LA’s Brentwood neighbourhood sits on two-thirds of an acre and is more than 8,000 square feet.
It was built in the 1950s and gutted in 2009 for a full renovation. Gwyneth updated the property in 2022 again, this time adding a one-bedroom guest house.

- Home gym

The Montecito “forever house”
Before Gwyneth and her husband Brad Falchuk’s “forever house” was built, the just over two-acre land with an ocean-front view was occupied by two dilapidated residences. Gwyneth knocked these down to make way for the ‘Faltrow’ family’s dream home.
She envisioned “a Parisian apartment set within an old European barn, something with high ceilings, flooded with light, a place that feels generous yet manageable at the same time.” Roman and Williams and Romanek Design Studios helped to bring her vision to life.
The property also features an exquisite guest house, where in 2023, Gwyneth teamed up with Airbnb to let two lucky winners stay there.
The property is everything the Iron Man star ever wanted. Gwyneth said, “My Montecito home is my sanctuary for respite and mental clarity. I go there to recharge, to daydream about what we’re building at goop and to reconnect with my family and treasured friends.”
Key features:
- Sea-blue home spa, complete with an infrared sauna, cold plunge, hot tub and steam room
- Custom pewter-finished bronze doors
- Cerulean-blue pool

The Hamptons getaway
Gwyneth purchased her luxe Hamptons home in 2006. Spanning 7,000 square feet, the home in Amagansett boasts five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms.
More than a getaway, GP’s fancy Hamptons property has welcomed numerous goop gatherings. Even more, it’s where she and Brad got married. They exchanged their vows in its backyard, near the tree where her late father’s ashes are buried.
While there aren’t many peeks inside, Gwyneth has shown off the property’s gardens on a number occasions. And in one goop exclusive, she welcomed fans inside her home to watch her get “Hamptons” ready.
Key features:
- Outdoor lap pool
- Extensive gardens
- Infrared sauna
- Outdoor shower house
