Most recently, the Danish royal family attended King Frederik’s annual Fun Run where all four children took part in the fun day out.

Crown Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 17, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 13, were snapped on the day, with royal watchers shocked at how much older Vincent and Josephine now look.

The two youngest royal children are the least photographed members of the family, so supporters are always eager to see new photos of the twins.

“OMG ! It seems to me, like it was yesterday, the twins are born…” one social media follower commented.

“Omg, the twins have grown up!” another agreed, while a third added, “Beautiful siblings. The twins have so grown up.”

Prior to the Fun Run in May 2024, the 13-year-olds were last seen publicly at their father King Frederik’s accession ceremony in January.

Many of the photos of the royal children are captured by none other than their mother.

Queen Mary is stylish, intelligent, always poised – and also an incredible photographer. Is there anything she can’t do?

The Australian-born royal’s skills as a photographer have allowed fans glimpses into her life, especially when it comes to photos of her children.

Every year on their birthdays, the Danish royal family shares portraits of the children taken by the Queen, and supporters are always quick to flock to the comments and gush about how much they look like their parents.

Marking Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine’s 13th birthday in January 2024, the palace uploaded a photo of the twins, writing “Their Royal Highnesses Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine have a birthday and are turning 13 today”.

Many followers noticed the similarities between them and their parents, with one person commenting, “Gosh, Josephine is so much like you Princess Mary!!”

Meanwhile, another follower noted how much they’d grown up, writing, “Wow!! They’ve grown up so quickly! Congratulations and a very happy birthday from Australia! Teens at last!”

Similarly, royal supporters also draw comparisons between the older siblings, Crown Prince Christian and Princess Isabella, and King Frederik and Queen Mary.

On her 17th birthday, the palace again uploaded a photo of Isabella, taken by her mother, to mark the occasion, writing: “Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella has a birthday and is turning 17 today.

“Because of the birthday, Her Majesty the Queen has taken new pictures of the Princess together with the Royal Family’s one dog Coco.”

“She is beautiful just like her mom 😍”, one follower wrote, while another commented on a recent photo of the Princess saying, “It’s crazy how much Princess Isabella looks like King Frederik 😮😍”.

It seems royal watchers think Prince Christian looks like his father, as some have commented on photos of the Danish heir saying, “The Crown Prince is the image of his father in stature”.

These sentiments were echoed on another photo, with a fan writing, “Prince Christian looks more like his father as he matures.”

Princess Mary and Prince Frederik met during the Sydney 2000 Olympics at the Slip Inn pub in the Sydney CBD, and the then 28-year-old had no idea she’d just met a Danish royal.

“The first time we met we shook hands,” she recalled. “I didn’t know he was the prince of Denmark. Half an hour later someone came up to me and said, ‘Do you know who these people are?’”

The first year of their romance was a long-distance relationship, with Frederik making secret trips to Australia. In 2001, Mary moved to Denmark and their story rocketed into international folklore.

Two years later, on October 8, 2003, it was announced that the couple were officially engaged.

“I don’t recall wishing that one day I would be a princess,” Princess Mary said shortly after the engagement. “I wanted to be a veterinarian.”

The couple married on May 14, 2004, at Copenhagen Cathedral in the nation’s capital, where Mary wore a beautiful gown created by Danish designer Uffe Frank.
